Saturday 29 October

Elizabeth had a fairly good sleep. Thanks to sharing a room with Snoring Lizzie, Sarah did not (you don’t need to remind me – Ed).

We quickly got up, dressed and made our way to St Pancras - another lovely station. (You can tell how all the money is spent in the South - Ed).  We got a sausage sandwich and a drink and then started the boarding process. How easy it was with everyone in good Disney humour.

The Eurostar was brilliant - so quick and comfortable. We didn't even realise we were in the tunnel. After a quick stop in Lille in northern France we were soon arriving at Marne le Vallée.

The train arrived exactly on time. We had Disney Express which meant we could drop off our cases to be taken to the hotel and then we got our passes and we were good to go. The parks are right next to the station, so within 30 minutes of getting off the train we were in the park. It was all extremely efficient.

We found Disneyland Paris quieter and more spacious than the Magic Kingdom. Much of it - such as Main Street - is similar but slightly different. There are the usual four ‘lands’ - Fantasyland, Adventureland, Discoveryland (Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom) and Frontierland.

We stayed at the Newport Bay Hotel. The room is lovely with two double beds and a balcony (and also, no doubt, Snoring Lizzie thrown in for free – Ed).  A kettle, coffee machine, a safe, shampoo, soap, body lotion and flannels were also provided as well as two bottles of water.

WOT?! No horse-drawn tramcar?
